LIVING BY THE SEA MAKES YOU HAPPIER
Almost beyond belief! A study validates that living in seaside locations enriches physical and mental health, and also puts one in a state of serenity.Technical for tourism in Milan
Well, several scientific researches have claimed that living near the sea improves well-being and quality of life: in short, it gives happiness. Now this is confirmed by a new study from the British University of Exeter, which finds that living in seaside locations “slightly but significantly” improves our physical and mental health.
THE STUDY.
In a sample of forty-eight million people, researchers have, in fact, found that those who are less than a kilometer from the sea more often report being in “good health” than those who live at greater distances.
MORE SPORT.
The reasons for this would be numerous: the mere presence of the sea would reduce stress levels, and then the coastal environment would make people more inclined to keep active, for example by frequent walks on the beach or by practicing sea sports throughout the year, or almost.
Quasi da non immaginare! Uno studio convalida che abitare in località marine arricchisce la salute fisica e mentale, e mette anche di serenità.tecnico per il turismo a Milano
SEASCAPES
This study, is not the only one commemorating the benefits of the seascape on the psyche. Other research has shown that just observing seascapes (or generally natural landscapes, such as in the countryside) is enough to have positive effects on our mood, and even improve one's ability to concentrate. Gray cityscapes, on the other hand, activate opposite or at least less favorable feelings: that is, they can facilitate sadness and depression
