LANGUAGE EMPOWERMENT
Of fundamental importance to the S. Freud School is the strengthening of its students' communication skills and abilities in the English language, now the lingua franca of business, economics, science and every international relationship.
To this end, the School proposes two activities as an extension of its educational offerings:
Beginning in s.y. 2011/12, our Institute has introduced in its Educational Offer Plan the project "Conversation with a Mother-Tongue English Teacher," a 36-hour annual activity structured in co-presence between the curricular teacher and a mother-tongue English teacher, based on a general content planning that enhances the students' experiences and interests.
Students are stimulated in the oral production of L2 language material related to topics close to the adolescent world, with a look also at British or American culture and traditions. It means that the lesson will focus on a discussion, a topic, an object, a theme widely followed by pupils , moreover already used as a mode of communication in Internet forums and chats.. Continua
What does the new School Order say?
Teaching of a non-language discipline in a foreign language in secondary school 2nd grade.
The DD.PP.RR. implementing the Secondary School Reform No. 87/2010, 88/2010 and 89/2010 provide for the teaching of a non-language discipline (DNL) in a foreign language, particularly in our case: in the last year of Technical Institutes, Presidential Decree 88/2010 specifies in Art. 8 paragraph 2 b) "Transition to the new system" that the MIUR with a special decree in agreement with the MEF will define "the general criteria for the teaching, in English, of a non-language discipline, included in the area of address of the fifth year, to be activated in any case within the limits of the staff determined by current legislation."...
