DEGREE IN TOURISM ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT
The student with a degree in Tourism Economics and Management has specific skills in the field of the tourism sector and general knowledge in the area of national and international macrophenomena, of civil and fiscal legislation and in the business systems.
He/She takes part to the integrated and sustainable valorisation of the cultural, artistic,artisanal, enogastronomical, natural and environmental heritage.
He/she completes the skills acquired in the specific professional field with a proper knowledge of foreign languages and ICT in order to work in the information system of the business and to give his/her contribution to the organisational and technological improvement of the tourism company in an international context.
He/she is able to:
- deal with touristic services and/or products with a particular attention towards the valorisation of the natural, artistic, cultural, artisanal, enogastronomical heritage of the country;
- cooperate with public and private entities to the definition of the tourist image of the country and the related qualification plans for the development of the integrated offer;
- use the information systems- available from a national and international point of view- to promote innovatice tourism services;
- promote the integrated tourism by using multimedia communications techniques;
- take part to the business management concerning as far as concerns the organisation, the administration, but also the accounting and commercial aspects of the company.
At the end of his/her five-years curriculum , the student in "Tourism Economics Management" acquires the following learning outcomes described below in terms of competences
- To Recognize and explain:
- the main trends of the local, national and global markets in order to better understand their implications within the touristic context.
- the global macrophenomena in the area of Socioeconomics in general terms but also in a specific way concerning the tourism industry.
- the changes of the economy sistems in a diachronic perspective through the comparison among several ages and also in a synchronic standpoint by comparing different geographical and cultural areas.
- To Identify and have access to the public, civil and fiscal legislation with particular attention to its relation with the tourism sector.
- To Explain the main business systems in their models, management process and flow of information.
- To Recognize the organisational peculiarities of the touristic businesses and contribute to find functional solutions depending of its several types.
- To Manage the system of corporate disclosures by means of integrated accounting programmes for the businesses of the tourism sector.
- To analyze the profile of the country in order to recognize the specific features of its cultural heritage and to identify strategies of development of an integrated and sustainable form of tourism.
- To create marketing plans with reference to specific types of tourism businesses or touristic products.
- To plan, to record and to introduce tourism services and/or products.
- To Identify the main features of the labour market and cooperate to the staff management in the tourism business.
- To use the syistem of communications and of relations characteristic of the tourism industries.
