Program Information Systems Technologies and Design

INFORMATION SYSTEM TECHNOLOGIES AND DESIGN

CLASS III

PURPOSE

To induce the student to acquire the concept of communication and to know how information is handled in the computer.
To know how to code in binary.
To know operating systems and their evolution.
To know the phases and management models of a development cycle for computer systems and to know software requirements through requirements engineering (applying a requirements engineering process).

OBJECTIVES
To introduce the student to the use of major computer media. Specific objectives to be achieved are knowledge of information, data and their coding, knowledge of the architecture and components of a computer, the functions of an operating system, and the principles of software engineering and life cycle.

MAIN TOPICS COVERED
Number coding: operations between binary, octal, hexadecimal numbers.
Weighted and unweighted digital codes
Processor management, introduction to multitasking.
The principles of software engineering and classical models of computer system development.

CLASS V

PURPOSE

To induce the student to learn about network programming, both by realizing client-server applications and using sockets with Java and C++ languages.
To offer, to the student, a global and comparative view of the different technologies for implementing a web service.

OBJECTIVES
Know how to develop computer applications for local networks or remote services, choose devices and tools based on their functional characteristics.
Know how to configure, install and manage data processing systems and networks and learn how to write technical reports and document individual and group activities related to professional situations.

MAIN TOPICS COVERED
Distributed systems, network applications.
Apache web server
Sockets and communication using TCP protocols
XML language
The documentation of requirements (realization of UML diagrams)
