“HER NAME WAS ALICE…”
The S. Freud Institute Theatre Project Workshop "A Theatrical Lapsus" is pleased to present the play "Her name was Alice..." on Tuesday, June 6, at 11:15 a.m. The performance will take place at the Institute's gymnasium in front of an audience selected by invitation.
This is how Dr. Marigliano, contact person for the Project, tells:
"How did it start? Before we started constructing the essay, I asked the students what they intended to work on. To summarize, they responded as follows, "We'd like to work on growing up" "Yes, but why not Alice in Wonderland?" "That's right, but with something coming from us!" "Yes, our thoughts, our needs, our dreams!" And that was it, I started working on the script with the help of the kids, after improvisations and rehearsals in the space. Finally we found our title. It was beautiful, difficult and fun at the same time. It is an imaginary journey about real and unreal facts. Theater is the place of imagination, poetry, the most unlikely encounters, or more simply the place where you can meet the deepest part of yourself. But sooner or later every imaginary journey comes to an end. One realizes, then, that life is not simply a fairy tale; one must face the commitments that come with it with courage, awareness and enthusiasm, fighting against all forms of selfishness and judgment. Having the courage to tell about one's dreams.
This is what we have been trying to do since October, never forgetting to work, smile and have fun. Now it's your turn!"
The School thanks the students and all the resources that made this initiative possible and concrete, which became an important educational experience for all participants
