In the weeks of January. 12 to 18 and Jan. 19 to 25, 2020, students from the classes of the Economic Tourism Technician and the Economic and Social Humanities High School of the S. Freud Private School will take part in a study trip/language internship to Salamanca to learn the Spanish language. The stay will have an overnight homestay formula (groups of two students), will include an intensive language course in a renowned school and activities and excursions for sightseeing.
THE DESTINATION: Salamanca is located about 170 km from Madrid and is the capital of the province of the same name. It is located in the Autonomous Community of Castile and Leon in the northern meseta. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. The service sector (cultural tourism and the university) is the main source of the city's income. Relevant is the educational activity especially during the summer, which has a large influx of foreign students, most of whom come to learn Spanish and to attend several summer courses in Spanish language and culture at the university level.
THE SCHOOL: Don Quijote, an organization founded in 1989, is the most prestigious Spanish school in the field. The school is accredited by the Cervantes Institute and is a DELE, SIELE and CCSE exam center. The teaching staff consists solely of professors who hold a university degree for teaching Spanish and have a master's/doctoral degree in the discipline. In addition, the professors are the authors of the Prisma methodology: initially developed as a didactic for international students, it is now one of the most widely used methodologies by Spanish teachers worldwide and is distributed by the Edinumen publishing company.
