24 febbraio 2024
From February 26 to March 1, 2024, students in the third and fourth classes of all majors will take part in the educational trip with destinations Munich (Germany) and Vienna (Austria).
THE DESTINATIONS MUNICH
World-famous for Oktoberfest, Munich has been called the "metropolis with a heart," as its inhabitants have nicknamed it, and offers a unique lifestyle of culture, good food and relaxation. It is best discovered on foot, strolling through the incredible Marienplatz, the bustling square in the heart of the city, with its two historic town halls, the Altes and Neues Rathaus, the latter famous for its Glockenspiel, the enchanting mechanical clock with the largest carillon in Germany. Among the things to do in Munich, you cannot miss a walk in the beautiful Englischer Garten, the city's English garden, the first public park in all of Germany.
DACHAU
Located 16 kilometers (10 miles) from Munich, Dachau is the first concentration camp, opened at the initiative of Heinrich Himmler on March 22, 1933, only a month after Adolf Hitler came to power. The labor camp was originally designed for the detention of about 5,000 deportees and used as a "model camp" in which the most methodical techniques of physical and mental annihilation of deportees through forced labor were tested and fine-tuned.
VIENNA
Overlooking the banks of the Danube, Vienna is an aristocratic city steeped in history, characterized by Gothic-style buildings and imposing 17th-century aristocratic palaces that still retain all their original splendor. It is the city of Princess Sissi, with the historic Schönbrunn Palace, St. Stephen's Cathedral at Stephansplatz and the Capuchin Crypt, the Belvedere Schloss, and the many literary cafes that enliven the downtown streets.
