We are pleased to announce that all third classes of the Technical Economic Tourism and High School of Human Sciences will participate on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 3 p.m. in the educational meeting “Peer Education” sponsored by LILT, the Italian League for the Fight against Cancer.
CONTENTS
LILT's awareness-raising activities in schools began in the 1970s, starting from the awareness that the concept of prevention must be proposed at a very early age, providing the appropriate tools to stimulate - from the adolescent period - great attention to all the issues inherent to the sphere of health that will then be fundamental especially in adulthood.
The approach on which the meeting will focus is based on Peer Education, an educational methodology that is based on a process of transmission of knowledge and experiences among members of a peer group, within a plan that provides for well-structured purposes, times, ways, roles and tools.
Since 2015, a memorandum of understanding between Lilt and the Ministry of Education (MIUR) has been in place to promote anti-cancer health education programs by means of a multilevel approach involving the following “actors.”

Those who decide to join the project - following the presentation given by Dr. Odorifero - will have to carry out within the three-year period 50 hours of training through interactive and experiential training workshops. Subsequently, an additional 40 hours of operational support activities for LILT (health promotion, fundraising, awareness of healthy lifestyles issues), thus accumulating a total amount of about 90 hours.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES.
- Foster awareness of wellness issues: addictions, nutrition, motor activity, affectivity and sexuality, proper sun exposure;
- Develop and support skills such as: personal identity, ability to make choices, confrontation and effective communication, responsibility, empathy, initiative, teamworking, leadership;
- Provide young students with the opportunity to experience working in a nonprofit, opening up new perspectives and opportunities for them;
- Promote intergenerational communication, exchange of experiences and mutual growth.
