On Thursday the 29th of May the students of the classrooms I A will visit the Museum of Science and Technology of Via San Vittore 31 in Milan.
The initiative aims at approaching the students to the world of sceince and Leonardo da Vinci.
The main objective is to make the students curious about the science and the technology and discover how we use them in our daily life.
This Museum keeps a cultural heritage made of many collections (15thousand objects), the archives (photographs and papers) and the library (50thousand volumes and magazines) that witness the history of science and technology and the industry since the XIXthe century to our present time mainly focusing on Italy.
A few curiosities about the "Leonardo da Vinci" gallery
Different historical models of machines designed by Leonardo da Vinci on the pages of his famous codes are on exhibit ranging from the civil ones like the revolving crane or the pile driving machines or the militry ones like the ramming ship, his studies of architecture, his ideal city and his models of sailplanes.
You can also see a life-sized automatic wooden frame which is perfectly working that was designed and made by following his famous codes.
On the walls over the objects tere are some drawings of his main artworks while on the opposite ones there are the codes with his own notes related to different fields like the anatomy, the physics, the botanics, the mathematics, the geology and the cartography.
