SCHOOL NEWSPAPER PROJECT "LE ULTIME DI SIGMUND"
The Education Coordinator, having regard to the resolutions of the Teachers' Board, announces that the S. Freud Parochial School has established a new editorial office of the historic school newspaper, "Sigmund's Latest."
The project was initially proposed and developed by Class III Technical Economic Tourism under the coordination of Profs. Tomasi and Bruno, but the participation in the project of all students and teachers of the School is welcome, for a final product that belongs to and represents the entire Institute.
Issue No. 0 will be published in the first days of May; thereafter publications will be quarterly, with issues in December, March and June.
The editorial staff is currently structured as follows:
- Director and Deputy Director: Despina Kotidis and Virginia Mangini
- Journalists: their job will be to compose articles of various kinds all students who wish to do so
- Proofreaders: their job is to correct typos, grammatical errors: Giorgia Rizzo and Beatrice Croce
- Secretary and press office: their job will be to collect articles according to the topics covered: Beatrice Croce and Davide Grassi.
- Computer officers: pupils who are mainly interested in the graphics of the newspaper and the computer composition of the different pages: Riccardo Vairani and Keir Recchia
- Image, photography, video curators: they will be in charge of collecting or making photographic images and videos and/or comics to enrich the Blog and the paper with tasty, pleasant, interesting and curious images: Ivan Rotondo, Alessandro Burgo and Boris Aiello
- The articles, images, videos, and graphic architecture, once screened by the IT people, will go to proofreaders and finally to web publication.
Classes throughout the school will be able to help augment the news of the newspaper by submitting articles through the use of the newspaper's newsroom email:
leultimedisigmund@orientamentoscolastico.eu
The Project also includes, for future years, a visit to a newsroom in our city and some meetings at school with a journalist, who will reveal the secrets and background of a fascinating and complex profession.
This activity, which is characterized as an effective tool for giving pupils a voice, has the following purposes:
- Make learners more open to different issues, and accustom them to being able to give correct information;
- Involve learners more actively in the life of the Institute;
- orient students to know how to read reality, promoting comparison and creativity;
- develop the skills of analysis, synthesis and conceptualization;
- stimulate critical thinking;
- make students acquire civic awareness;
- improve writing processes;
- foster social interaction, through collaboration with peers;
- carry out the same project to gain awareness of being part of the same school reality;
- encourage the more active and proactive involvement of families in school activities, because parents have the opportunity to find in the school newspaper an immediate means of expressing opinions, making suggestions, but above all receiving circumstantial and reasoned information about the various initiatives and the goals that the School aims to achieve.
Some topics that will be covered in the newsletter:
- City events
- A look at the world.
- I'll tell you a poem

The sharing of ideas, information, and visions of facts and things is an important window into our contemporary world, which can give rise to new awareness and critical skills.
The School favors these initiatives certain of the opportunities associated with them.
The Principal therefore hopes for maximum collaboration and participation of the whole School in this Project.
