On Thursday the 27th of February 2014 the students of the classrooms I A and II A will take part in the field trip "GOLA" that Art and Science together.
The exhibition is held at the Triennale of Milan, viale Alemagna 6.
What is GOLA:
Gola is an art and science exhibition dedicated to the tastes and the pleasure of eating.
The impact of big quantities of food on our health which is often related to the basic mechanism of pleasure has been recently matched with the physiological and psychological mechanisms that science is now analyzing.
So the artists have explored the pleasure of eating as well as all the problems that the changes of our diet are causing by reaching an approach which is more and more similar to the scientific one.
That is why this exhibition meant combining art and science in order to satisfy our curiosity and enable the visitors to leave the exhibition with an interesting interpretation.
The exhibition is divided into 5 different spaces.
A specific theme will be developped in each space through a video which shows the basic scientific facts, some works of art and some exhibits and related curiosities:
1) The dilemmas of the omnivores: how the evolution "hid" a complext food choice behind an emotional mechanism based on pleasure.
2) The senses of taste: almost all our senses are involved with the food choice according to some criteria that are set by our DNA so they are very similar and they are generally put together to convey a feeling.
3) Good to think: where biology is not involved the xperience comes – our own experience and the the experience of others through some learning mechanisms that affect the diversity of the food culture around the worlk and make our identity".
