On Jan. 23, 2023, all students in the fifth classes of the ICT School address, Tourism Economics Technical and Human Sciences High School at S. Freud School will take part in the play Come un cammello in una grondaia.
CONTENTS
With Law No. 211 of July 20, 2000, Italy established the “Memorial Day in remembrance of the extermination and persecution of the Jewish people and of Italian military and political deportees to Nazi camps,” which falls every January 27, a date chosen symbolically because, on that day in 1945, the gates of the Auschwitz camps were torn down and the whole world was confronted with the horrors and crimes committed by Nazi-Fascism.
The establishment of this anniversary is based on the desire to keep alive the historical memory and reflection on the Shoah and the persecutions that affected, before and during World War II, the Jewish people, military deportees, Roma and Sinti, Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals, people with disabilities and opponents of the regime and the extermination project.
Millions of human beings were deprived of their dignity and their social, civil and political rights, their very lives.
From the tragic nature of those events comes the ethical duty to transmit to young people the value of Remembrance and to provide them with the tools to learn about the causes and painful consequences of the Shoah.
On dramaturgy and direction by Serena Sinigaglia,, “1943-Come un cammello in una grondaia,” represents one of the “historical” plays of the Atir company. Based on the “Letters of the Condemned to Death of the European Resistance,” the play casts a moving and courageous glance at the atrocities of past barbarity in order to learn about the present, in the name of wisdom and respect for human civilization.

- Fostering a sense of critical thinking and responsibility
- Promote a supportive and cooperative classroom climate;
- Raising awareness of the importance of issues concerning the historical-social and humanitarian spheres at the same time
