EDUCATIONAL TRIP - FONDAZIONE PRADA

14 febbraio 2023

On the dates of Feb. 15 and 21, 2023, all students in the third classes of the Technical Economic Tourism and High School of Human Sciences will participate in the educational outing at the Fondazione Prada, an exhibition space located at Largo Isarco 2, 20139, Milan.

SHORT SUMMARY  ON THE THREE EXHIBITIONS

1. Recycling beauty “Recycling Beauty” is an unprecedented survey devoted to the theme of the reuse of Greek and Roman antiquities in post-antique contexts, from the Middle Ages to the Baroque. The premise of this research is the need to consider the classical not only as a legacy of the past but as a vital element capable of affecting our present and future. Recycling Beauty,” on the contrary, intends to focus on the moment when the antique piece abandons its initial or ruined condition and is reactivated, gaining new meaning and value through the gesture of reuse.

2. Guest Museum: Specola Museum of Natural History > the exhibition includes a selection of ceroplasts that, produced in the Enlightenment period, highlight the way bodies, especially female bodies, were represented for scientific purposes. The works are accompanied by illustration sheets and scientific fact sheets that emphasize the museum's breadth, comprehensiveness and scientific systematic nature.

3. Dara Birnbaum > the exhibition includes a selection of works by the artist, who during her 50+ year career has explored the boundaries between video art, installation and mass culture, investigating the ideological and aesthetic character of mass media. Constant themes in her works are cultural mythologies and gender biases reflected in the representation of women in popular culture.
