The topic addressed in today's article by Dr. Daniele Nappo, Legal Representative and founder of the S. Freud Private School, concerns violence against women, a serious phenomenon that is unfortunately on the rise. The answer must be a school that educates against gender-based violence.
Schools are by definition the place to intervene in terms of culture and prevention. That of violence against women is a serious and rapidly growing phenomenon: suffice it to say that in 2023 an average of more than 10 calls per day of alarm or complaint arrive in Milan. For proper education, which must necessarily pass through the classrooms, teachers should attend training courses; The world of education in general must be sensitized. Work must be done on actions to prevent violence against women; this is a commitment that must be pursued in schools as well with concrete actions not only on anniversaries. There must be a strong focus on collaboration by setting goals to be achieved, through workshops where projects must be born. Schools can and must protect women, and teachers must teach anti-violence lessons. The way must be to build, with new generations, a new way of relating between men and women: educating against gender violence can and must be the mission of contemporary schools as well as families.n the journey of education, it would be useful to enhance with boys the positive male examples that embody the real values of love and respect. The answer must be a school that teaches respect, attention, consideration, dialoguing and debating in the classroom in a critical manner. The source must not be what is acquired on the web: preadolescents, who construct and structure their sexual identity, in the absence of explained models, end up adhering to those proposed by a pseudo-traditional culture with conduct and attitudes of bullying included. Manhood should be understood as affection, courage to realize and carry out tenderness without the fear of showing weakness but learning to share the pain and difficulties of others.
