On 18 June 2021, the Legal Representative of S. Freud School, Dott. Daniele Nappo, expresses, in his usual weekly column on the national newspaper “Il Giorno”, his own consideration on the topic concerning the school resumption in September.
Under the urge of health emergency, the School contributes to the harmonious balance of the future citizens and has to be considered at the centre of a new model of society.
INCLUSIVE EDUCATION: NOW, WE ARE MAKING PLANS FOR SEPTEMBER
The vaccination campaign, even addressed to students, makes us hope to a complete and regular school resumption in September.
Nevertheless, we are left in doubt: Will be there any restrictions? Hopefully, only the mask.
To face this situation, we have already understood the important role played by technology. Moreover, to overcome any form of difficulty, new learning approaches have been experienced, but also new relational ways among teachers, students and their families.
From this point we are going to restart. Undoubtedly, pandemic has revolutionized the school system and its activities, by imposing imponendo rapid chages to all the "actors" of the school system.
Our greatest desire consists in ensuring to all students schooling in presence, because we are aware that this represents an activity that can't be replaced. To enhance the activity of Distant Learning , DL, without becoming the definitive resolution, could mean to develop a rearrangement able to give more attention to the most fragile students or those with disabilities.
For the new school year, the coming back to class is expected on 14th September and we have new plans: on one side we expect precise indications by the Regional School Boards, on the other side we hope that every school institution will be able to interact with its own resources and knowlede and givethe best answers. The primary aim consists in ensuring the right to health.
The reorganized school will suggest a " non distant" teaching approach, because the teachers are the only responsible for this activity, but we have also to reinvent a "guide" role for students as well. A living relation able to support any kind of difficulty, by hoping not to face them again. Therefore, it is necessary to make plans even at school in a wide and articulated way: we have to make plans in our current complicated society, in a framework of educational needs and promoting wellness of the students in all their aspects i (...). Undoubtedly, the school contributes to a synergic balance of the future citizens and has to be considered as the center of a mew model of society thai is rising now under the stimulus of the health crisis. It is obvious that the School has developed its antibodies by ensuring inclusion, equal opportunities and a quality service to all students.
