The school of the future should immerse itself in the reality of students with good communication, new methodologies and comfortable environments.
You don't teach what you know or think you know: you teach and can only teach what you are.
School started again a few weeks ago and students have returned to their desks with passions that are often conflicting; Some of them are fearful, others are intrigued by what it will be like, others are struggling with shyness, some want to challenge the teacher, others assume attitudes of indolence. These are all behaviors that sum up the period of adolescence of young people. Today's young people often hide signs of an inner world yet to be discovered and revealed. Teaching is certainly more effective if you abandon the academic lesson, you have to use the new methodologies.
Sometimes in the classroom, in the questions of the young people, it is possible to understand aspects of discomfort that grip and oppress them and make the moments of the lessons heavy. It is up to the teacher to try to frame these moments, understand their meaning and understand the moment. In the classroom, for schools that still have them, the teacher represents a means of transferring the news and information that students listen to, sometimes mechanically. The teacher no longer plays the authoritarian and repressive role he once had: he has become, with the passage of time, a mediator of knowledge who experiments every day with the most valid techniques to stimulate interest, curiosity, the desire to go beyond the apparent provisions that the disciplinary contents preserve as a signature of sure truth.
The human and collective value of teaching is a long journey of persistent and punctual transformation of behaviour, gestures and words that aim to make each child stand out in his or her potential. Today's classroom changes its appearance, it no longer has the teacher in the chair: the teacher moves between the desks while the young people study using increasingly advanced technological tools; This is the modern school, the one that will be able to support the new generations and be a firm and valuable point, inclusive and capable of innovating.
In a "circular desk" every day the teacher can identify and rediscover himself, looking into the eyes of the students that implicit and hidden consent to start together a new episode of an itinerant journey such as the school year.
