In this article, Dr. Daniele Nappo illustrates the importance of learning and developing an effective study method that is able to lead students to satisfactory results.
Students at school must learn a method of study, that is, a method suitable for themselves that they must consciously make their own in order to achieve satisfactory results; In this context, the teacher's ability to direct towards an appropriate and personalized system makes the difference. It is important to deepen the aspects that characterize each student, without neglecting the pedagogical-didactic plan. The study method concerns the mental dimension of each student and as such is not easy to teach. Seeking and experimenting with a method of study means something deeper, more interior, as mentioned of the person, using a different phenomenological approach capable of intervening on the ontological dimension of the learner. The goal must be that the teacher is able to make all young people aware of their own learning style in order to apply it in their studies. The teacher must use a pedagogical dialogue in a process of analytical reflection that allows the understanding of who I am and how I have to do it to learn. He/she must explain how to be attentive in class and how to reflect on the topics covered, also and especially with students with special educational needs.
Therefore, developing a study method is not a foregone conclusion, it is necessary to teach learning so that study is not perceived as difficult but rather as a happy moment where it is not the will to understand but to prepare to understand. A goal that must be pursued with adequate and better tools. An effective study method is a set of strategies that help you overcome the obstacle and perform at your best. Studying is an activity that has many variables, both objective and subjective, so students must be able, with the help of the teacher, to adapt to these changing aspects. Basically, there is no one-size-fits-all recipe for everyone.
Each student is the one and only one who can take responsibility for understanding how to find the best and proper study method, only in this way will his knowledge be more compelling and above all productive.
