Dr. Daniele Nappo, Legal Representative as well as Founder of the S. Freud Private School, focuses on the interactive approach, that is, a teaching method in which the teacher does not only transmit notions to his students but succeeds in enthusing them by encouraging their participation their critical thinking.
The interactive approach tells us about a method of teaching in which learning is not a unidirectional process, where the teacher only conveys information to students, but engages learners in the educational journey. This mode aims to foster participation and critical thinking, making young people interpreters of their own learning system. In an interactive context, young people are not passive listeners, but are encouraged to ask questions, discuss, explore concepts, solve problems and collaborate with each other. The teacher, therefore, represents a guide or facilitator rather than a dispenser of knowledge. This mode can be achieved through different methodologies. Students work together to explore topics and concepts-confronting and learning from each other's opinions-and tackle practical tasks that require research, application of knowledge and collaboration creating “active” learning. Classroom interaction fosters peer collaboration, improving communication skills, participatory listening and the ability to work in groups. The use of interactive digital tools, such as online quizzes, simulations, and e-learning platforms, enables dynamic and personalized learning. Learners receive instant feedback which allows for continuous improvement. Interactive discussions and activities spur critical thinking and the ability to analyze, reflect and solve problems. The teacher persistently prompts students to reflect and respond, creating a place for dialogic knowledge transmission: an interacting proposition makes teaching more engaging, challenging and learner-centered, encouraging curiosity and independent thinking. In conclusion, students are more motivated to participate because interaction stimulates their interest and pushes them to be more focused. In general, interactivity helps create a deeper learning experience.
