On 21 October 2021, the magazine “Il Giorno” publishes the complaint made by Dr. Nappo, Legal Representative of the S. Freud Private School on the waste of surgical masks supplied by the Ministry.
As stated by the Director of the Private School in Milan, with IT, Tourism and Human Sciences addresses and which now has more than 750 students, the children do not intend to use state supplies because they are of poor quality.
These masks, from a protective device, are transformed into a source of waste and pollution, going, at best, to accumulate inside school warehouses and, at worst, once delivered, immediately thrown out of school.
TONS OF MASKS WASTED AT SCHOOL
In the warehouses of the Freud school in Milan, boxes full of masks pile up, which nobody wants to use because they are "of very bad quality". The supply of protective devices to schools by the Ministry of Health results in a daily waste of money and resources.
Daniele Nappo, director of Freud, shows the "non-compliant" masks produced in Mirafiori by FCA, the former Fiat. “They are certified by the Presidency of the Council - he underlines - but just look at them to understand that they are not regular. The fabric looks like a diaper, the elastics break almost immediately and they also smell bad. The result is that the students don't want them and prefer to take them from home, while we end up with boxes of useless masks that we don't even know how to dispose of ". The ministry had also issued a circular asking schools to report non-compliant batches, to "start the procedures aimed at withdrawal".
