On 17th April 2021, “IL GIORNO” mentions the focus centred on the S. Freud School in Milan, in relation to the qualitative perception of DL (distant learning) than the teaching approach in presence.
By analizing this focus it is observed that more than a half of students expresses concern for the educational training received in the course of the pandemic: many students agree that their learning is scanty because of the DL, apart from the preparation of teachers and the results of technological excellence of the School.
We have also to perceive that 33% of students confirms the accentuation of discussion with their own family concerning emotional issues.
DL: focus, students with poor preparation and risk on their final State Exam
Nappo (Freud Milano), problems have not to be denied, but solved.
Distant Learning (DL) is creating many problems to the students independently from the efficiency of the system and of the teachers' active engagement: on the basis of a focus realized by the Upper School S. Freud in Milan, the 66,8% of the students agrees that the educational training achieved is not satisfying. It would be better, if they had gone to school, so that the 34,8% holds the view not to have received a proper educational training for the next school year or in sight of the final State Exam in June for the students of the fifth year.
More than 500 students of over 700 enrolled at our School have answered the questions.
Among other negative aspects almost 33% observes the accentuation of discussion with their own family concerning emotional issues. Despite of the fact, in the future, 33,2% realizes that it would be useful to use the DL approach, together with the lessons in presence, even after the pandemic emergency. c
“It would be wrong to deny the negative aspects of DL, on the contrary the issue has to be analyzed and finally solved - explains the School Director Daniele Nappo -.
It was a difficult experience and we have to prepare ourselves again for the future because nobody knows the effects of the pandemic in a short time, imagine in an extended period of time”.
76,8% of students have declared that homework are more than the previous tradional lessons: for the12,5% the study load wasn't simple to be tolerated even because of the approach devoid of personal relations with schoolmates and with teachers, while for thel 64,3%, even though increased, the study load has been tolerated. It was relevant, for more than 90 % of the students, the technical functionality - interconnection, tablet and mobile phones - and the active engagement of the teachers in making interesting the lessons even in an atypical situation.
