On Friday 28 January 2022, Dr. Daniele Nappo, legal representative of the S. Freud Charter School, shares his reflections on new learning methods, which must be in step with the times, in the national newspaper “Il Giorno”.
Frontal teaching is obsolete, we need to think of an inclusive and dynamic education in which pedagogical techniques must be in line with the times. The school is planning and collaboration between student and teacher, an educational planning developed and structured on shared criteria and needs.
"The validity of school education finds its cornerstone in the interaction and positive reciprocity of the interpreting actors of the teaching-learning, student-teacher process. We know how much the learning process is conditioned by educational collaborations built with quality between school, family and students. The so-called co-responsibility pact. The state of conflict between teacher and learner conditions and affects learning, in some cases in such a destructive way as to lead to early school leaving and abandonment of studies. The new school builds didactic methods of teaching with educational styles that are completely different from the past, accompanying even the most fragile young people. Transforming training spaces into continuous circumstances of observation and discovery contributes positively to building strong bonds, in a school that becomes capable of facing the challenges of its time. Frontal teaching is obsolete. Today the training model of an innovative school is based on the skills and competences connected in a bond that addresses the issues of society and knowledge as important knowledge and issues for life. We must think of an impartial and inclusive quality education for which pedagogical techniques must be innovative; it is necessary to think of a better professionalism of the teacher who must be able to activate lesson modes with attention, respect and welcome actions through teaching that stimulates students and participatory lessons. The modern and contemporary school is collaboration between teacher and student: it is an educational planning developed and structured on shared criteria and needs. The school is no longer a place of failure due to inconvenience or a series of difficulties that the student cannot bear. Today's students are supported by a school system that understands and is able to offer effective support for hardship. The teacher with a pedagogical style attentive to the well-being of the student understands the adolescent suffering of a girl and a boy in the full construction of his identity, the school must be an area of protection and help, not a painful environment. Even the teacher's evaluation can affect a delicate period of development and growth. In short, the student's value must be analyzed to understand how to best address the condition that we know is a path of growth."
