A survey by the Lombardy Regional Council on drug trafficking reveals some aspects of drug use: one in two users is between 16 and 24 years old and also sells a lot on the web, with new home delivery systems. The so-called 'market' then changed with the introduction of new toxic substances. The problem of drug and alcohol abuse among girls and boys also engages the school. And it is a tough war, but one that can be won. First of all, it is a priority to build careful prevention activities by making students reflect on the dangers to health. A targeted action that aims to make adolescents not only aware of the risks and damages, but that promotes healthy behaviors and lifestyles. The Edu Project, promoted by the Department for Drug Policies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, promotes innovative tools for the prevention of drug use among adolescents by making them available to teachers and parents. They are important and sometimes decisive supports. The Department has developed an intervention plan on specific web portals made available to school managers with important resources to build, with clear and communicative dialogues, an articulated network for the realization of educational purposes.
Prevention must involve teachers and families: a priority policy is essential for reducing and eliminating consumption. And it is precisely the school that is the main training team capable of guiding young people in their growth and choices: they must succeed in the difficult task of explaining the differences between guaranteed scientific information on substances and that which is widespread and easily accessible through the internet, social networks. network, youtube which is often false and distorted (...) Time and space should be systematically dedicated to targeted educational and training interventions. Each school must adhere to possible control interventions with specialized units regarding the characteristics related to the age of the students.
