Freud Private School, draws attention to the teacher's task of teaching his or her students to go beyond the first news they receive, a behavior that is very common among young people, but to learn to plumb the news by going deeper and deeper.
A behavior or a way of doing things can be educated to become a competent way of being in school as well: the teacher must teach the attitude of "persisting," that is, staying focused on a task until the task is completed. The commitment as teacher-educators lies precisely in supporting all students and especially those who give up easily due to lack of self-confidence, fear of failure, and difficulty in concentrating. With students, the commitment is aimed at helping in going deeper in considerations, not stopping at mere surface reasoning. It is also characteristic of the digital age to stop at the first piece of news received, often, spreading it virally. Managing impulsiveness means, for example, going deeper into the news, analyzing it from different views, to get to the bottom of it. A simple and quick retweet or like delivers a new lead on the Net: that is why it is important to do it in a conscious and thoughtful way. One has to listen to students with understanding and empathy, and it is undoubtedly not easy especially because of the widespread difficulty in developing silence to predispose to listening. Teachers have a great opportunity to experience with students the awareness of silence, the demonstration of what it means to listen to th e others. One must be taught to think flexibly in a figurative sense, a quality that can be called adaptability. Students who have trained these skills are able to cope with change and manage the inevitable stress. Frequently, the anxiety of contemporary times and the speed of change accelerate opposing attitudes to stay in the pass with the times. Often, in fact, staying on the surface, impulsiveness of response, and haste drive one precisely to gloss over accuracy.
