12 ottobre 2022
On Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, students from the first classes of the ICT school address, Technical Tourism Economic and the High School of Human Sciences Social Economic option will participate in an educational outing at the Ticino Park and visit the town of Vigevano.
CONTENTS
In Vigevano, within the Ludovico il Moro Power Plant, a center has been created to practice the activity of rafting. Rafting is a group sport in which the members of each crew act as a team. In an unfamiliar context, with different rules to be respected and a narrow space to be shared, you will be able to experience the thrill of going downstream while having the beautiful landscapes of Ticino as a backdrop.
Lots of fun but also history and science. In fact, in this area Leonardo da Vinci lived several years leaving an indelible imprint and the Ticino Park encloses a unique biosphere: during the descent with appropriate breaks, both topics will be treated in a fun but instructive way.
In the afternoon there will be a visit to Vigevano's Piazza Ducale, its Castle and the Pietro Bertolini International Footwear Museum.
Vigevano is an authentic jewel of art in Lombardy, located halfway between Pavia and Milan. The town square is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy, a delightful “urban living room” where everything is harmoniously perfect.
The Piazza of Vigevano - in full Renaissance style - was designed by Leonardo and Bramante, is overlooked by the beautiful Cathedral of Sant'Ambrogio and surrounded by the complex of buildings culminating in the Castello Sforzesco. The Piazza is formed by a rectangle built on three sides, while on the fourth stands the Cathedral of Sant'Ambrogio.
Also in the center of Vigevano is the magnificent Castello Sforzesco, one of the largest in Europe. The Castle was built between 1345 and the end of the 1400s for Luchino Visconti, but it was always with Ludovico il Moro and the work of Bramante and Leonardo da Vinci that the fortress was transformed into a marvelous work of ingenuity. Visiting the Castle is an experience that will take Our Students back in time. During the visit we wander through the halls of the Ducal Palace and then relax on the lawn of the gardens, where events are often held. Inside the Ducal Palace you can visit a truly original museum. On display are not works of art, but shoes. The collection of the Pietro Bertolini Footwear Museum is very fascinating; in fact, it includes shoe fashion from the 15th century to the 1970s. Among the specimens in the collection are also models worn by important people, including Beatrice d'Este and Marylin Monroe.
