On the 30th of Janury the 3rd grade students of the Economic Social High School visited the Reception Centre of Padri Somaschi of Rescaldina.
Within the project area called “multiculturalism: utopia or citizenship” a school trip was organized at the Reception Centre of Padri Somaschi aiming at offering the students a direct experience of the reception system in Lombardy in cooperation with Mr. Colombo, the director of the Culture and Social Policies of Canegrate, the former major of Legnano and Mrs Banfi director of the Somaschi Foundation.
Mr Colombo will welcome the students and they will go deep into the themes of integration and multiculturalism, they will be shown what has been done for the city of Legnano in 2016, when the city was one of the most virtuous municipalities regarding this issue.
Then Mrs Banfi will show the students the activities that are performed by the Foundation then they will habe e lunch all together including the guests of the Centre to share a daily experience.
AIMS
One of the main aims was offering the students the change to go deep into these issues and make an opinion about the meaning of social integration.
In our present society where the spreading of information is so fast and very often the messages are so violent and judging the school should be able to provide the needed tools to understand the main characteristics of the prsent society as regards the multiculturalism by assuring the possibility to develp the students' critical thinking.
