Dr. Daniele Nappo, Legal Representative as well as Founder of S. Freud Private School, draws attention to the Ministry of Education's new regulations regarding conduct grade and the stop of cell phones in the classroom.
The Ministry of Education, Giuseppe Valditara, proceeds with new provisions for the current school year: from the approval of the reform on conduct grade to school suspensions. Great attention is given toward the fight against violence and bullying: even stricter behavior will be adopted, bullying and aggressive behavior will be countered with possible failures if the conduct grade drops to 5 or for school debt in Civic Education in high schools with a grade of 6. Also planned is a revisit to the suspension system where reflection activities are announced for breaks in attendance of up to 2 days and supportive citizenship activities for longer stops. The reform also announces mandatory tenth grade evaluations in the first quarter, for all grades (...) Then, the new Civic Education, revised and updated with arguments such as gaming, pathological use of the web, but also addictions to drugs, smoking, doping. And then, again, teaching and explaining the fight against mafias and crime according to what emerges from the new lines precisely of Civic Education. A subject that according to the will of the Minister of Education and the government will return to its original predisposition that is to educate and instruct future citizens to whom the decree wants to give a greater sense of belonging to national citizenship. And then stop cell phones in the classroom with a hard line from the minister, even for educational purposes, tablets and computers will have to be used under the guidance of the teacher. For smartphones, however, the clampdown - involving the youngest students, up to middle school - is inflexible. If until recently the use of the devices, with teacher permission, for educational purposes was tolerated, since September cell phones are banned.
