On Saturday 9 October 2021, the Legal Representative of the Paritaria S. Freud School, Dr. Daniele Nappo, expresses his reflections on the world of education at the time of Covid, in the usual appointment published by the newspaper "Il Giorno".
In the column "Piazza Lombarda: Between Emergencies and Scenarios", the Director of the Higher Institute, addressing IT, Tourism and Human Sciences, reporting the opinion of the majority of the students of the School regarding the poor quality of the masks provided by the Ministry, underlines how it is absolutely necessary for the Ministry to intervene to ensure that the School is a safe place for all the actors involved.
Poor quality masks at school
The anti-covid masks that you receive from the Ministry of Education are considered to be of bad or poor quality by more than 80% of the students and not effective by over 75% who state that, among other things, they do not fit well with the face; 65% also have a bad smell.
This is what emerges from a report we carried out on the over 750 students of the Freud Higher Institute in Milan. It is very difficult to distribute them and to explain their need to girls and boys and the fact that they need to be changed over the course of the hours.
Young people, more than 7 out of 10, define them as "diapers for the face" and more than 85% prefer to take them from home.
The mask, its manufacture, is still too important not to give the right importance, both to maintain everyone's presence in the classroom, and to avoid this waste that, after all, is around ten million masks, delivered, for each school day.
The report carried out by probing the opinions of our students and their parents shows that families are worried because in fact these masks make the classrooms less safe than they should be, and they are used not only by students but also by all the teaching staff. and secretarial and it is feared that they have a lower filtering value than the necessary protection.
The situation was reported by many schools to the Ministry of Education, asking for an intervention, as well as the fact that often due to this situation the masks remain packed in cartons, with a huge waste of resources.
