On 24 September 2021, the national newspaper “Il Giorno” published, on the page dedicated to him in the usual Friday appointment, the new article by the Legal Representative of the Charter School S. Freud, Dr. Daniele Nappo.

In the editorial "Piazza Lombardia - beyond Covid", Dr. Nappo, this week, reflects on the ideal characteristics of what a good school should be today, as is already the case with Freud.

The School, as Dr. Nappo thinks, must be able to operate as a thinking organization, a community of dynamic activities that defines, evaluates, contextualizes, controls and continuously modifies its work, to adapt and contextualize it and to make it current and interesting.

IDEAS FOR A MORE MODERN SCHOOL

It is a school that is changing, a school that faces with determination and competence the growing educational difficulties aggravated by wrong policies that have made teachers and students resources more and more overloaded with commitments. This change sets in motion a process of profound innovation in which all subjects of school life are placed in a position to be interpreters, assuming their own responsibilities. Today's school must be able to differentiate and personalize learning so that each student can be valued for his or her aptitudes and potential. (...) The school can only be transformed by those who live there and live it every day and who today ask politics to fulfill its true task: to guarantee the conditions and resources for this difficult process to start and be realized.

The education path that goes from 3 to 18 years must have a renewed educational principle, inclusion and cultural training to face adult life in order to develop conscious and independent choices. We need interventions with an overall vision, aimed at building the conditions for the profound methodological-didactic innovation necessary, the objective and criterion of every action of change.

The school where we live and work now is not always able to remove the economic and social obstacles that actually limit the freedom, choice and equality of citizens.

The changes to be implemented must be aimed at improving the learning of each and every one.

The school, I think, is able to operate not as a bureaucratized system but, instead, as a thinking organization, a community of dynamic activities that defines, evaluates, contextualizes, controls and modifies its work continuously to adapt and contextualize it in order to make it current and interesting. A network organized in collegial moments where the relationship between parents and teachers is centered on mutual enhancement, where they mutually recognize roles and areas of action. The pact of educational co-responsibility must certainly represent the end of a path of sharing, not only of the rules of coexistence, but above all it must contain objectives to be pursued. Finally, the school that I imagine interacts more with the territory because it is a place of learning, of the creation of an inclusive society. For this reason it is essential to relaunch shared initiatives such as territorial training pacts.
